The windsurfing life story of Monty Spindler

The story of Monty Spindler, one of the most prominent personalities in the history of windsurfing, will be revealed in a movie.

He sailed everything - from Optimist and Laser dinghies to Original Windsurfer and Formula sailboards. Monty Spindler bought his first windsurfer from Ken Winner, in the mid-1970s.

He began making windsurfing sails, and worked with multiple sailing inventors, including Michael Ready, Stuart Jamison, and Newman Darby. However, Spindler owes his much of his sail design knowledge to Kame Richards. Both sailmakers produced the earliest mylar windsurfing sails.
